Eight foods to eat less of when losing weight

Must read

Slimming down, eight types of foods to eat less as much as possible

1. Fried Foods

These foods undergo high-temperature frying, with extremely high fat content. Common examples include fried chicken nuggets, french fries, which absorb a large amount of oil during the frying process.

According to research, an average portion of fried chicken nuggets may contain more calories than we need for a regular meal. Additionally, the fats in fried foods easily produce harmful substances at high temperatures, posing a potential threat to health.

2. Puffed Snacks

Puffed snacks are also a category to avoid. Snacks like potato chips, prawn crackers usually contain lots of additives and salt, not only high in calories but also lacking in nutrition.

For instance, a seemingly small packet of potato chips may have calories equivalent to a bowl of rice. Long-term consumption of puffed snacks can burden the kidneys and affect normal metabolism.

3. High-Sugar Fruits

High-sugar fruits like durian, coconut, lychee are rich in vitamins and fibers, but their sugar content is relatively high. For example, excessive consumption of lychee can cause rapid blood sugar rise and convert into stored fat.

4. Cold Beverages, Milk Tea

Cold beverages, milk tea usually contain lots of sugar and cream. A regular cup of tapioca milk tea may have calories as high as several hundred, easily creating dependence, increasing appetite, causing weight gain unknowingly.

5. Visible Sugars (Various Sweets)

Various sweets are the nemesis of slimming down, such as chocolate cake, cream puffs, that not only exceed the sugar limit but may also contain a lot of trans fatty acids.

According to nutritionists, excessive intake of trans fatty acids increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases and can jeopardize weight loss plans.

6. Braised Dishes

When cooking braised dishes, a large amount of oil and sugar is often used for coloring and seasoning, such as braised ribs, braised pig’s feet, braised pork, delicious but the fat and sugar content cannot be underestimated.

100g of braised ribs contain 278 calories, equivalent to 800g of boiled broccoli, which is why slimming down requires eating more vegetables.

7. Chicken Feet

Despite appearing lean, chicken feet actually have high fat content. 3 chicken feet equal two bowls of rice calorie-wise, a calorie bomb that those trying to slim down should consume less of.

8. Pork Belly, Fatty Beef

Pork belly and fatty beef are rich in saturated fatty acids, excessive intake leads to fat accumulation. In times of scarcity, there used to be a high demand for these high-fat foods, but in this health-conscious era, we need to make food choices more rationally.
