Firstly, do not go to sleep immediately, as many people tend to do. Alcohol is metabolized by the liver, and sleeping right away slows down the body’s metabolism, which is detrimental to the liver and can lead to alcoholic liver disease. It is recommended to wash your face with cold water after drinking and then sit and rest for a while.

Secondly, avoid taking hangover pills after drinking. These pills may temporarily relieve the symptoms of intoxication but actually prolong the duration of being drunk. It is advised to drink plenty of water and consider drinking sports drinks to replenish electrolytes.

When drinking excessively, the body’s temperature regulation becomes disrupted, leading to increased heat loss and causing one to feel cold. It is important to keep warm at such times, but avoid using an electric blanket, especially for individuals with hypertension, coronary heart disease, or other cardiovascular conditions.

After drinking, it is not advisable to take a shower immediately, whether hot or cold. Taking a hot shower or visiting a sauna can cause heat to accumulate in the body, worsening the state of drunkenness and potentially leading to severe vomiting or fainting. On the other hand, taking a cold shower not only fails to sober up but also prevents the liver from replenishing the glucose consumed in the blood. The cold water stimulation can cause blood vessels to contract, increasing the risk of vessel rupture and colds.

Avoid exercising after drinking. Alcohol acts as a diuretic, causing increased fluid loss after intoxication, which can lead to dehydration. Exercising at this point can further exacerbate the risk of dehydration. Swimming after drinking is particularly dangerous as it accelerates body heat loss suddenly, leading to dizziness, hypoglycemic fainting, leg cramps, and other issues.

Following are some recommended ingredients for relieving hangovers and detoxifying after drinking.

Moringa seeds: Consuming 2-3 moringa seeds 15 minutes before drinking can help reduce the likelihood of getting drunk. The active ingredient in moringa seeds can protect the stomach from alcohol and aid in faster alcohol metabolism. It is still advisable to drink alcohol in moderation. Instructions: Consume 4-5 moringa seeds by chewing them before drinking, followed by drinking around 300 ml of water. Moringa seeds have a liver-protecting effect.

Staying up late, irregular eating habits, and consuming greasy food can lead to various liver problems such as alcoholic liver disease and fatty liver. Drinking liver-cleansing tea regularly, which contains beneficial herbs, helps maintain liver health. It has detoxifying, liver-nourishing, and lipid-lowering properties that benefit both fatty liver and alcoholic liver issues.

Black garlic has high levels of trace elements, a sweet and sour taste without the typical garlic flavor. It has antioxidant and antacid effects, beneficial for liver and kidney health.

Chrysanthemum tea contains abundant chrysanthemum glycosides, amino acids, choline, and other alkaline substances which effectively relieve liver fire, enhance capillary resistance, and improve liver blood supply. Regular consumption can detoxify, improve liver blood circulation, and aid in hangover relief.

Chronic liver diseases like hepatitis B and C pose risks to human health, especially during spring and summer. Dandelion, which promotes liver function, clears heat, and has anti-inflammatory properties, can be beneficial for those with chronic liver conditions. Drinking dandelion tea, especially made from dandelions that are three years old or more, can assist in treating liver diseases effectively. Diabetics can also benefit from dandelion consumption for liver health.
