For men with a short lifespan, the reasons may lie within themselves. What things should they endure, no matter how much they like them?

Must read

Compared with women, men have a shorter average lifespan, which has been proven by numerous data. The lifespan of Chinese men is 72 years, while women live up to 77 years; in Japan, men live up to 76 years and women up to 82 years; in Hong Kong, the average lifespan for men is 81, and for women, it is 87…

When asked about the reasons, men often attribute the lower average lifespan to women’s inherent advantages, such as women having better blood vessels. Some friends have also mentioned that women are more willing to spend money on self-care. Rarely do men mention reasons related to themselves, but in fact, the reasons for the shorter lifespan of men, or rather the males who contribute to lowering the average lifespan of men, may very well lie within themselves.

Eating too casually. Men with shorter lifespans tend to have a more casual approach to diet – they eat heartily when hungry, don’t bother eating when not hungry, and often eat quickly due to time constraints, leading to significantly reduced chewing frequency. In the summer, they are not picky about food, indulging in street-side barbecues, open-air food stalls, seafood, beer, and so on. These overly casual eating habits can easily overstimulate the digestive system, affecting digestive function. This continual pattern can impact nutrient absorption, toxin elimination, and may lead to common issues like cardiovascular diseases or gout, thereby shortening lifespan.

Sitting for long periods every day. Nowadays, men, whether young or elderly, have the inevitable habit of prolonged sitting. Sitting at work when young and sitting for leisure activities when retired, it seems like sitting has become a lifelong habit. However, long periods of sitting can impede blood flow in the body and even affect metabolic rates. Incorrect sitting postures can lead to spinal problems. These are undoubtedly shared characteristics among men with shorter lifespans.

Excessive smoking. The harm of smoking to the body is widely known, and recent studies have shown that nearly every cause of death among Chinese individuals has some degree of association with smoking. Some men turn to cigarettes when under immense stress and unable to find a way to vent – though understandable on occasion, habitual long-term smoking, even just a few packs per day, is detrimental. Long-term smokers exhibit evident lung changes that are easily visible on X-rays. Despite any fondness for smoking, it’s advisable to resist the urge.
