Having a strong physique and achieving longevity is basically everyone’s wish. For men, longevity is especially important. As the main financial support for the family, only with good health and longer lifespan can one better shield the family from hardships and lead their small family towards a happy future.
However, time is ruthless, circumstances change, and diseases, aging, and other factors can all affect men’s health, consequently impacting their lifespan. Even so, among the long-lived individuals around us, men are not uncommon. And in these long-lived men, there are certain traits that they usually possess, let’s understand them together.
Men who meet the longevity criteria often have the “two large and one deep.”
Two Large:
First Large – Large Lung Capacity
Lung capacity refers to the amount of air that can be exhaled by the lungs after full inhalation. Generally, when young, the lungs are vibrant, and lung function is high, resulting in high lung capacity. However, as age advances, bodily functions decline, occasional smoking and drinking, frequently being in a polluted environment can lead to lung damage, reduced lung function, and subsequently lower lung capacity. Therefore, many older men tend to pant after slight physical activity.
Research has shown that individuals with larger lung capacity have a higher likelihood of longevity. So, if a man over 50 engages in physical labor or a period of running without heavy panting, it indicates a large lung capacity, good lung function, meeting the criteria for longevity.
Second Large – Strong Physical Strength
In our perception, men symbolize strength and can effortlessly lift heavy objects compared to delicate women. This is mainly due to different physiological structures, with male muscle tissues being more developed. However, as one ages, the functions of various bodily tissues and organs decline, leading to weakened muscle strength, which is a sign of aging.
If a man is still as strong as ever after reaching 50, capable of easily lifting 100 pounds of rice, with muscles in the waist, arms, and thighs remaining firm and strong, then they meet the criteria for longevity, which is indeed something to celebrate.
One Deep – Deep Sleep
We all know that nearly one-third of a person’s life is spent sleeping. Therefore, sleep is crucial for one’s health. Quality deep sleep allows organs to rest adequately, enhancing their functions. Stress in daily life often affects men’s sleep, causing them to toss and turn, finding it hard to fall asleep. Over time, this leads to lethargy, poor mental state, easy distraction, weakened immune system, compromised liver detoxification function, rough skin, hormonal imbalance, and increased susceptibility to colds and fevers, all of which can affect one’s lifespan.
However, if you usually enjoy deep, quality sleep, your immunity strengthens, enhancing your body’s resistance to viruses and bacteria, promoting better health and longevity.
If men want to live longer, they should focus on the following two points:
First, engage in moderate exercise. Life is in motion, exercise boosts immunity, promotes metabolism, regulates blood circulation, reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases, and contributes to overall health. Lack of physical activity can lead to joint pain and muscle soreness. Therefore, to achieve a healthy and long life, engage in activities like running, walking, playing sports, and exercise regularly.
Second, soak your feet before bed and clear your mind. Men often face high stress levels and numerous worries in life, which can lead to overthinking and disturbances in sleep. In such situations, soaking your feet before bedtime to relax your body and mind, followed by lying down, clearing your mind, will help you fall asleep faster.
