Regardless of gender, if you can avoid these three things after drinking, your liver might feel much “better.”

No matter male or female, if you can refrain from these three things after drinking, your liver might feel much “better”.

Although there are still many incompletions in gender equality, there have been significant changes compared to feudal society and the earlier years. Girls can have their own careers and social circles. With the ability to be independent in life, drinking is no longer just something that can be done between men. Drinking is a unique social ritual in China; we can accomplish many things at the dining table, improve the relationship between couples, and even complete business collaborations.

Chinese people drink when they are sad, and they also drink when they are happy. However, alcohol is like a double-edged sword; it can provide pleasure to emotions and relax the body, but it can also harm many organs. The liver is the most affected because it is responsible for metabolizing alcohol. Many people also have bad habits after drinking, which can even double the harm to the liver, so we must be cautious.

No matter male or female, if you can refrain from these three things after drinking, your liver might feel much “better”.

Refrain from the first thing: sleeping after drinking.

Morning is basically the start of the day, and people generally do not drink then. Lunch is often the busiest time of the day, so meals are usually just a hasty affair. Therefore, drinking gatherings are generally arranged for the evening, as it is the most relaxing time of the day. Drinking usually lasts quite a while, so after drinking, most people return home and immediately go to sleep. Sleeping can be said to be a habit for many after they get drunk, but this leads to a slower metabolism of the liver, increasing the time alcohol stays in the liver, thus intensifying the harm. So after drinking, wait for at least half an hour before going to sleep.

Refrain from the second thing: running after drinking.

Many people have a mistaken belief about sobering up; they think that alcohol can be quickly expelled through urine or sweat, so the hangover won’t be that serious. This viewpoint is incorrect because alcohol can only be expelled after being metabolized by the liver. Running not only allows the liver to absorb some alcohol but also accelerates breathing, which leads to the spread of alcohol’s harm to other organs. Therefore, after drinking, one must absolutely refuse to engage in running or other physical activities.

Refrain from the third thing: taking a shower after drinking.

Especially in cold winter, many people like to have a drink before sleeping to warm up. As a result, many will sweat a lot after drinking, making them eager to take a hot shower, hoping to speed up the sobering process. However, the hot water used for showering opens up capillaries throughout the body, essentially providing a pathway for alcohol to spread to all parts of the body, which will harm the liver even more.
