In our real life, if a woman successfully conceives a baby, then men also play a crucial role. Because male sperm is also very important, as failure to meet fertilization requirements may lead to difficulties in conception for women or even infertility. However, certain habits of some men in daily life may lead to a decline in sperm quality. Learn to control these two “sperm-harming” behaviors to benefit early! Let’s explore them together below.

Two actions that harm sperm in men, especially the first, are better kept under control for the sake of “face”!

Smoking and Drinking

In daily life, most men may have the habit of smoking and drinking, possibly due to the many social occasions they need to attend. However, long-term smoking and drinking can harm the body, inevitably affecting the quantity and quality of sperm.

This is because nicotine in cigarettes easily stimulates the male central nervous system and affects overall health, leading to a decline in physical fitness, which in turn affects sperm quality. Alcohol also increases the likelihood of male sperm abnormalities. Therefore, it is recommended that men planning for conception start quitting smoking and drinking at least six months before to facilitate the combination of sperm and eggs, nurturing a healthy baby.

High Temperatures

Most men nowadays are the backbone of their families, facing significant work pressure. To cope, they may choose stress-relieving methods such as taking hot baths or saunas. Although considered more civilized than smoking and drinking, prolonged exposure to high temperatures can affect sperm vitality. Male sperm does not favor high temperatures; the ideal temperature for sperm in the male testicles is around 35°C. Regular hot baths or saunas expose sperm to temperatures far above this ideal, potentially harming the quality and quantity of sperm. Therefore, to maintain their dignity, men should avoid prolonged exposure to high temperatures, such as soaking in hot water or staying in saunas.

In real life, apart from hot baths, smoking, and drinking that harm sperm, other behaviors like prolonged sitting, keeping cell phones in trouser pockets, etc., may also affect sperm vitality and quality. To improve sperm quality and quantity, it’s advisable to give up these bad habits as much as possible.
