Everyone will encounter various mental health issues throughout their lives, including psychological crises arising from stress or setbacks (critical events), so it is essential to pay attention to and maintain mental health.

Mental health issues can be addressed through self-regulation of emotions and behaviors, seeking emotional communication and psychological support, and other methods. Adopting an optimistic, cheerful, and open-minded attitude towards life, setting goals within one’s capability, adjusting expectations of society and others, establishing good interpersonal relationships, cultivating healthy living habits and interests, and actively participating in social activities all contribute to maintaining and promoting mental health.

Actively participating in sports is an important way to maintain mental health, as exercise can enhance the ability to face setbacks and difficulties appropriately. Exercise allows for the reasonable venting and release of negative emotions, especially moderate-intensity aerobic exercise, which significantly helps in cultivating good psychological qualities and strengthening psychological resilience.

It is crucial to pay attention to the mental health of children and adolescents by conducting life education, strengthening psychological counseling guidance, and cultivating a sense of valuing life and emotional management and psychological adjustment abilities. If psychological counseling is needed, help can be sought by calling local hotlines such as 12345, 12355, or 12320.

If there are suspected evident psychological behavior issues or mental illnesses, it is essential to consult and receive treatment at a psychiatric specialty hospital or a comprehensive hospital’s mental health department as early as possible.

Mental illnesses can be prevented and treated; there is no need to feel embarrassed or ashamed. The companionship and supervision of family members are vital for the recovery of mental illness patients. Once diagnosed with a mental illness, it is crucial for patients to receive formal treatment promptly, supervise their adherence to the doctor’s orders for medication consistently and on time. Strictly follow the treatment plan and actively provide feedback to the doctor regarding the treatment progress. The effectiveness of treatment for mental illnesses is related to the type and severity of the condition. With standard treatment, most patients can have their condition effectively controlled and achieve clinical recovery.
