How to Care for Newborns? Parents Should Master These 5 Care Tips!

Must read

As living standards improve, the way of caring for newborns tends to become more scientific. Many soon-to-be parents start learning parenting knowledge before the baby is born, while family members are busy making various preparations to welcome the arrival of this little life. Newborns naturally become the core of the family. So, how can newborn babies be cared for scientifically?

Key points of newborn care include:

Avoid wearing too much clothing during sleep. Due to the rapid metabolism of newborns and their relatively high body temperature, wearing overly thick clothes can cause them to feel stuffy, sweat excessively, and may even lead to collapse. Ensure the sleep environment is at a suitable temperature and avoid using electric blankets.

Keep the sleep environment dark. Darkness helps improve sleep quality, which is crucial for the healthy growth of newborns. Light may not only interfere with their visual development but also increase visual pressure. Therefore, ensure the surrounding light is soft when the baby is sleeping.

Do not interrupt deep sleep to change diapers. Newborns’ lives mainly revolve around eating and sleeping, and sufficient sleep is the foundation for their rapid growth. Therefore, do not deliberately wake them up when they are sound asleep.

Encourage diverse sleeping positions. Newborns tend to maintain a curled sleeping position as in the womb. To promote normal head shape development, adjust their sleeping positions in a timely manner. Especially after feeding, let the baby lie on their side to prevent milk choking.

Prepare formula milk correctly. With more working mothers, formula feeding has become common. Pay attention to the appropriate concentration when preparing formula milk, as too thick may be hard to digest and too thin may lead to inadequate nutrition.

Introduce complementary foods such as egg custard carefully. Although eggs are nutritious, adding them to an infant’s diet too early may have adverse effects on the baby’s health.

Newborn care involves many details, requiring careful attention from new parents. Inexperienced parents should learn scientific parenting methods in advance, avoid common care mistakes, and create a healthy and safe growing environment for the baby.
