For babies aged 6 to 7 months, their diet should still mainly consist of dairy products. The amount of milk per feed can be increased to 200 milliliters. At the same time, introducing small amounts of baby biscuit powder, infant formula, as well as porridge and vegetable puree can be gradually introduced while ensuring the baby has normal bowel movements. To enrich taste and nutrition, fruit puree can be used instead of fruit juice, which is particularly suitable for babies who have started teething. Chewing fruit puree can help in developing their chewing ability, promoting healthy teeth and jawbone development.

When preparing fish supplementary food for babies, fresh grass carp or carp can be used to ensure the freshness and safety of the ingredients. There are three methods of preparation: first, steam about 100 grams of descaled and gutted fish meat, add a few drops of sesame oil and a small amount of salt; second, cook an equal amount of fish meat paste with water until fully cooked, then add sesame oil; third, steam the whole fish with seasoning, remove boneless fish meat, mash it, mix with a small amount of fish soup for consumption.

In addition, simple rice porridge is also a good supplementary food choice. For example, mix 2 teaspoons of rice with 100 milliliters of water, soak for 1 to 2 hours, then cook. Towards the end, add a tablespoon of milk, continue simmering until the porridge is soft.

Minced pork and vegetable porridge is another balanced nutritional option. When making it, chop 50 grams of lean pork, combine with chopped vegetables, stir-fry the minced meat with oil, soy sauce, and minced ginger until fully cooked, then mix it with cooked rice porridge and bring to a boil.

Mixed tofu pudding combines tofu, minced carrots, and minced meat, among other ingredients. First blanch and chop the tofu, cook it with other ingredients until thickened.

Peanut red date porridge is rich in protein and minerals. By simmering peanuts, red dates, and rice together, and seasoning with sugar, it is nutritious and easily accepted by babies.

During the introduction of supplementary food, follow these principles: start with small amounts, observe the baby’s acceptance and digestion before gradually increasing the amount; the texture of supplementary food should transition gradually from thin to thick, from fine to coarse; it is best to offer supplementary food when the baby is hungry, gradually replacing some dairy products; ensure all utensils are clean and sterilized, avoid feeding food from adult mouth to baby’s mouth to prevent disease transmission.

Lastly, for babies over 6 months old, most fruits can be tried. Soft fruits like bananas, peaches can be pressed into puree directly, while apples, pears may need to be mashed. Grapes, oranges should be washed and peeled before feeding, ensuring safety in consumption.
