What do children eat to aid digestion?

Must read

Children’s gastrointestinal system is more delicate compared to adults, hence indigestion is more common among kids. This not only affects nutrient absorption but may also hinder their healthy growth. To promote children’s digestive health, here are some recipe suggestions suited for them:

Seafood Congee: Simmer 50g of rice with 4 cups of broth until it thickens. In the meantime, steam 20g of fresh shrimp, chop them, and add to the congee as it nears readiness. Season with a pinch of salt, and finally mix in a small amount of chopped celery for fragrance.

Fruit Oatmeal Congee: Soften 100g of dried oatmeal in 300g of water; dice 50g of fresh fruits after washing. Cook the softened oatmeal with 50g of children’s milk and a little sugar, then mix in the diced fruits and cook briefly.

Vegetable Congee: Take 2 teaspoons of rice, soak in 120ml of water for 1-2 hours, then simmer over low heat for 40-50 minutes. When nearing completion, add 1 teaspoon of strained vegetable hearts (such as spinach, rapeseed, or Chinese cabbage leaves), and simmer for another 10 minutes to infuse the freshness of the vegetables into the congee.

Fruit Bread Congee: Cut 1/3 of a regular flour bread into small pieces, cook with apple juice until soft. Then add chopped peaches, oranges, and bayberries, stir gently, bring to a boil to create a delicious congee with a rich fruit aroma.

Carrot Congee: Cook 2 teaspoons of rice with 120ml of water over low heat for about 40-50 minutes. When the congee is almost ready, add strained carrot puree, continue cooking for 10 minutes to give the congee a golden color and rich nutrients.

These recipes are not only easy to digest but also provide children with various nutrients needed for their growth, making them a tasty choice to help maintain good digestive function.
