Case: In the early days, Ms. Zhao was diagnosed with mild hyperglycemia, which would not be a big problem if she paid attention in her daily life.
However, things did not go as expected. Recently, Ms. Zhao felt that her physical condition was not as good as before. She often felt dizzy, thirsty, and urinated frequently. After searching online, many people mentioned that these are symptoms of diabetes, which made her worried upon getting the diagnosis of type 2 diabetes after visiting the hospital.
After detailed communication with the doctor, Ms. Zhao learned that the reason for the high blood sugar was due to her daily dietary habits.
“Eating once is like ‘salting’ the islet,” Doctor: Stop consuming “fried tofu,” it has been blacklisted.
It turned out that Ms. Zhao loves to eat fried tofu, and she makes some every day. However, after frying this tofu, its fat and calories increase significantly.
The doctor mentioned that people with high blood sugar should have a light diet. Ms. Zhao’s frequent consumption of fried tofu will gradually increase calories in her body, leading to obesity and metabolic disorders. This can result in a decrease in the islets’ ability to regulate sugar, causing significant blood sugar fluctuations and sustained high blood sugar levels.
Moreover, to prevent blood sugar from continuously rising, there are two things to avoid:
1. Lactic acid drinks
Most lactic acid drinks sold in the market have high sugar content. A 100ml bottle of lactic acid drink contains sugar equivalent to two sugar cubes. The fruit glucose syrup in it is rapidly absorbed by the body, increasing sugar levels in the body, causing insulin resistance and worsening the condition over time.
2. Pork jerky
Many people enjoy eating pork jerky as a snack. Although not sweet when tasted, manufacturers add a large amount of salt, sugar, and other seasonings to make the meat tender during the production process. However, excessive intake of these “invisible sugars” can also affect the islets and blood sugar. The “Journal of the American Medical Association-Internal Medicine” has also stated that excessive intake of various additives in processed foods can worsen the condition.
Reminder: If the blood sugar level rises, these symptoms may indicate:
1. Thirst – High blood sugar leads to frequent urination, causing dehydration and resulting in thirst.
2. Weakness – High blood sugar thickens the blood, making it difficult for the islets to transport sugar to cells, leading to insufficient cellular energy and fatigue.
3. Itchy skin – Long-term high blood sugar can damage small blood vessels, causing the skin to lack nutrition, leading to intolerable itching.
To stabilize blood sugar and prevent the condition from worsening, two things should be done daily:
1. Supplementing blood sugar-lowering nutrients
2. Consistently engaging in daily physical activity
Regular exercise is essential for stabilizing blood sugar. Exercise promotes normal blood circulation, effectively eliminates sugar substances from the blood, and better regulates blood sugar.
