High uric acid, the “culprit” found? Tell your family: don’t eat these 3 vegetables even if they’re given for free.

Must read

Gout is a metabolic disorder that leads to an increase in uric acid levels due to purine metabolism abnormalities.

Many people think that gout is distant from themselves, but in recent years, gout patients have been getting younger. Young people in their prime have also become a reserve force of gout patients. So why do they also suffer from gout?

Among the factors causing gout, dietary factors play an important role. The irregular lifestyle and diet of young people, irregular daily routines, frequent consumption of high-purine foods, lead to an increase in uric acid levels in the body, thereby triggering gout.

Doctor: 3 Vegetables that Cause High Uric Acid, Avoid Overeating

1. Shiitake Mushrooms
Shiitake mushrooms, an essential delicacy for hot pot and stir-fry dishes, are rich in nutrients and have various ways of consumption, popular among people. However, mushrooms have a relatively high purine content, reaching 214 milligrams. Excessive consumption can elevate uric acid levels in the body, and gout patients should eat shiitake mushrooms in moderation or avoid them.

2. Asparagus
Asparagus has a purine content of 150 milligrams per 100 grams, making it a high-purine food. Asparagus transforms into uric acid in the body, and excessive consumption by gout patients can lead to elevated uric acid levels, triggering gout. Additionally, asparagus contains a certain amount of oxalic acid, which inhibits uric acid excretion.

3. Kelp
Although not classified as seafood, kelp is a marine product, relatively salty, usually made into kelp soup or salads. Excessive consumption can raise uric acid levels in the body. Gout patients should avoid eating kelp, and it is advisable to limit the consumption of other seafood or marine products to prevent gout attacks.

There are three abnormal manifestations of high uric acid:

1. Joint Swelling: Swelling and pain in multiple joints such as knee joints, elbow joints, and ankles may occur due to uric acid crystal deposition at a certain level in the body, leading to joint swelling. It is important to pay attention and control uric acid promptly.

2. Urination Abnormalities: When uric acid levels reach a certain point, uric acid salt crystals form. Excessive accumulation of uric acid salt crystals may block kidney glomeruli and urinary tract, causing urinary obstruction or even lack of urine. Urine color may darken, and there may be foamy urine.

3. Lower Back Pain: The kidneys are located in the lower back region. When uric acid levels are too high, uric acid salt crystals accumulate in the kidneys, leading to a decrease in kidney metabolic function. If uric acid is not promptly excreted from the body, it can cause a sense of back pain.

To prevent high uric acid, do two things regularly:

1. Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables to supplement the body with vitamins. Fruits and vegetables are rich in dietary fiber, which can stimulate the gastrointestinal tract, prevent and treat constipation, promote beauty and skin care, and regulate metabolism to some extent.

2. Nutritional Diet A balanced nutritional diet is important.
