When uric acid is high, there are often 4 signs, remember to eat less of 3 dishes, quietly stay away from gout.

Must read

In this bustling era, due to people’s unhealthy habits, many individuals have developed high uric acid levels.

In general, the blood uric acid level for adult males should be 149-416μmol/L, and for females, it should be 89-357μmol/L.

If the values exceed these ranges, it can be determined as high uric acid. However, it is important to note that before uric acid testing, one should avoid consuming large amounts of high-purine foods, oily foods, and excessive exercise, as it can affect the normal detection of uric acid.

When uric acid levels are elevated, there are often four signs – remember to eat fewer “3 dishes” and silently stay away from gout.

1. Joint pain frequency increases
When the uric acid in our body reaches a certain level, joint pain will increase along with the rise in uric acid, becoming gradually stronger. If not properly controlled, these pain sensations are likely to occur more frequently.

2. Appearance of gout crystals
Gout crystals are substances formed by the crystallization and sedimentation of uric acid in the body. The appearance of gout crystals can cause significant pain in certain joints. Typically, gout crystals appear in the first metatarsophalangeal joint of the foot, wrists, fingers, knees, and other areas. The presence of gout crystals indicates a high concentration of uric acid in the body, prompting attention to dietary habits.

3. Onset of kidney disease
Usually, uric acid in our body is excreted through the kidneys. If there is an abnormality in uric acid metabolism and a high concentration, it can increase the burden on the kidneys. This may lead to waste accumulation in the kidneys, potentially resulting in kidney disease over time.

4. Swelling in joint areas
Normally, uric acid circulates throughout the body with the flow of blood. If there is an abnormality in uric acid metabolism, particularly when the concentration is too high, uric acid crystals may form. These can precipitate in the bloodstream and flow to various joint areas, ultimately causing swelling. Remember to eat fewer “3 dishes” and silently stay away from gout.

1. Seasonings
Seasonings are often overlooked in daily life. Some seasonings have high purine content, such as oyster sauce, seafood sauce, abalone sauce, mushroom sauce, and chicken essence. Long-term intake of these seasonings can potentially increase uric acid levels, raising the risk of gout.

2. Seafood
Seafood acts as a “catalyst” for uric acid. While seafood is low in calories, their uric acid levels are relatively high. For individuals with high uric acid, it’s advisable to consume less seafood to prevent gout outbreaks.

3. Red meat
Red meat includes pork, beef, and lamb, all of which have very high purine content. For individuals with high uric acid, it’s recommended to limit the intake of these meats to reduce the risk of gout.
