The correct posture should have the hands placed below the shoulders, maintaining a bending angle of 45 to 60 degrees. This allows the chest and triceps to exert force more effectively, thereby reducing the risk of shoulder joint injury.

Second misconception: Exercise frequency

Some men believe that the faster the frequency, the better the results while doing push-ups. However, if the frequency is very high at the beginning, they may end up exhausted towards the end, resulting in a decrease in speed. This approach is also incorrect because when a man practices push-ups, the frequency should be moderate, and there should be a balance between tension and relaxation. Particularly, when pushing up, the speed can be slightly faster, while it can be slowed down when the body lowers.

Third misconception: Breathing method

In fact, every time we engage in exercise, respiration should be very regular, and it’s best to synchronize breathing with our torso. Especially during high-intensity workouts, one should either hold their breath or exhale. When a man is doing push-ups, he can inhale through the nose when lowering his body and exhale through the mouth when pushing up.
