During the hottest part of the summer, drinking 10 bowls of mung bean soup is not as beneficial as having a bowl of it. It is recommended to have a cup every morning to dispel dampness and relieve summer heat. The earlier you start, the more you benefit! Hello everyone, I’m Sister Fool’s Cuisine. The farming work in the field is not finished yet. I get up at 4 in the morning when the sky is just bright to go work in the field. Once the sun is up, I return home to enjoy the coolness with the air conditioning. The air in the field is really good and cool, as I shuttle back and forth in the cornfield pulling wild vegetables. I managed to find wild vegetables on my own land this morning; the dew in the field was quite heavy, soaking my clothes. After coming back, I quickly take a hot shower, then cook for the children, calling them to eat and study, keeping busy all day long.
Looking at the calendar, I realize the hottest part of the summer is here. Thinking of my husband working in construction every day, I feel sorry for him. The coming days will be tough; it’s not realistic for someone of his age with elderly parents and young children to not work and earn money. Heatstroke is common during this period, making it the best time to dispel dampness. I remember my husband got heatstroke last year, vomiting and diarrhea, struggling for days to recover. To prevent him from getting heatstroke this year, I made it early for him. Having a cup of it every morning is better than drinking 10 bowls of mung bean soup. It helps dispel dampness and relieve summer heat, benefiting everyone who drinks it. Below is the recipe for ginger and red date stir-fry, let’s take a look together.
Ingredients for “Ginger and Red Date”: 1 pound of ginger, some red dates, some brown sugar
Method: 1. We are all familiar with ginger, it has a spicy taste and a unique flavor, rich in nutrients such as enzymes, vitamin C, potassium, antioxidants, etc. Eating some ginger during the hottest days can help dispel dampness and relieve summer heat. I bought a pound of fresh ginger for 6 yuan. The ginger had a lot of dirt on it, so I washed it thoroughly with running water, making sure to clean it well. There’s no need to peel the ginger, after washing, slice it thinly, then dice it into small pieces. The smaller, the better. Once diced, set it aside in a plate.
2. Pick some red dates without any defects, wash them, then soak them briefly in clean water to soften the skin. Using kitchen scissors or a knife, cut them into small pieces, place the cut red dates in a plate for later use.
3. Pre-soak the red dates in a clean, oil-free frying pan with some pure water for 10 minutes to save time during cooking. Then add the diced ginger, sprinkle some brown sugar, bring to a boil over high heat, then switch to low heat and stir continuously. Patience is necessary.
4. Stir continuously over low heat until the red dates and ginger become thick and sticky. The picture below shows the result after 15 minutes of cooking. Once it reaches this consistency, it’s ready. Place the cooked ginger and red dates in a clean, oil-free container, seal it tightly, and refrigerate.
Every morning, take a spoonful in a cup of water, dissolve it with hot water, and drink it while hot. It’s delicious and sweet. Have a bowl every morning during the hottest days to clear heat, dispel dampness, and relieve summer heat, keeping you energized throughout the hot season. You can make extra so it’s convenient to have on hand whenever needed.
