[Food Supplements] Before and after the end of the heat, 3 types of “divine meat” are served, clearing heat, replenishing deficiency, and dispelling dampness.

Must read

Introduction

The end of the “last phase of autumn” is approaching, and the old saying goes: “If you don’t supplement during the last phase, you will suffer in autumn and winter!” However, health preservation at this time should not only focus on dispelling dampness but also consider nourishing dryness.

After a period of high temperatures and depletions, the body needs a cleansing nourishment that is supplementing without being greasy, while dispelling damp heat and nourishing the spleen and stomach, as well as hydrating the body.

Remember to include these three “superior” types of meat on your dining table: nutritious and delicious, providing sufficient nourishment for both adults and children as we smoothly welcome autumn!

First type: Mud Crab — High Protein, Low Fat

“With the autumn wind rising, crab legs begin to itch.” Mud crab is a must-try delicacy at the opening of the sea in August, with a rich flavor and various cooking methods: scallion oil, boiled, steamed, stir-fried with rice cakes, etc., you can’t go wrong with any preparation.

1. High Protein

The protein content in crabs is several times higher than that in pork and fish.

2. High Calcium

Crabs are also high in calcium, phosphorus, iron, and vitamin A.

3. Low Fat

The fat content is only 1/11 of that in pork: it contains just 3.1g per 100g, which is still less than a fraction of the fat content in pork, making it safe for those looking to lose weight.

However, there are a few points to note when consuming mud crab:

1. Crabs are inherently cold in nature; when steaming crabs, sprinkle some slices of ginger or perilla leaves on them. If boiling crabs, add ginger slices or perilla leaves to the water.

2. Those who are physically weak and cold, prone to acid reflux, habitual diarrhea, bloating, or those suffering from hepatitis, serious gastric diseases, cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, arteriosclerosis, hyperlipidemia, etc., should eat less or avoid crabs to prevent diarrhea, indigestion, or worsening of conditions.

3. Elderly individuals and children should preferably drink some ginger soup or dip crab in ginger-vinegar sauce to eliminate its cold properties.

4. Crabs should not be eaten with persimmons, watermelon, or cold drinks to avoid excessive cold harming the spleen and stomach.
