San Fu Tian is a hot period during the summer, when temperatures are generally very high. This can lead to a series of health issues, especially for middle-aged and elderly individuals with weaker constitutions. If daily habits are not attended to, it is easy for the body to fall into an unhealthy state. Today, we will discuss some important considerations for San Fu Tian.

1. Pay attention when showering during San Fu Tian.

In hot weather, we tend to sweat much more than usual. This can create a stuffy environment for our bodies, making them weaker. Therefore, special care in health management is needed during San Fu Tian, especially for middle-aged and elderly individuals.

Showering is a regular activity, and during hot days, it becomes a good way to cool down. However, there are still some issues to pay attention to when showering in such high temperatures, as it can affect our health.

Firstly, we should avoid taking long showers, and the water temperature should not be too hot. Many people enjoy scrubbing themselves well while showering, which can take a long time. Although it feels refreshing afterward, prolonged showering, especially in hot weather, can lead to oxygen deficiency, causing symptoms like dizziness, which could pose risks for elderly individuals. Therefore, it is recommended to control the duration of showering.

Additionally, the shower water temperature should be kept at an appropriate level—neither too cold nor too hot. If the water is too hot, it may cause rapid blood circulation, which can lead to dizziness and a pale complexion in elderly individuals, so this is crucial to keep in mind.

Secondly, avoid showering on an empty stomach or right after a meal. If you shower while fasting, your brain might not get enough blood, potentially leading to dizziness and low blood pressure. After a meal, our body allocates a significant amount of blood for digestion, and showering immediately afterward might cause gastrointestinal discomfort, and in severe cases, could lead to insufficient blood supply to the heart. Thus, it is essential to pay attention to these two time periods.

Lastly, do not shower immediately after exercising. After exercise, our bodies sweat a lot, and showering right away may impact our hearts and cause discomfort. It is advisable to wait about thirty minutes before showering.

2. During San Fu Tian, pay attention to these foods and eat less of them.

(1) Eat less cold drinks. In summer, due to the heat, many people opt for cold drinks to cool down. However, while cold drinks can help cool the body, they should not be consumed in excess, especially for the elderly. Cold and cool foods can easily irritate the stomach, which can significantly impact the weak constitution of older individuals and may harm the stomach and vital organs. Therefore, it is recommended that the elderly limit or avoid cold drinks.

(2) Try to avoid barbecued food and beer. Many people enjoy sitting out at night during summer, eating barbecued food and drinking beer. While this is indeed a pleasant experience, barbecued foods often consist of seafood and animal organs, which are high in purines. Consuming these in excess can lead to a significant build-up of uric acid in the body, increasing the risk of gout, especially for the elderly, so they should try to avoid barbecued food and beer.

(3) Avoid overly greasy and spicy foods. During hot weather, the air tends to be stuffy and humid, so it is essential to keep meals light; otherwise, it can easily lead to overheating of the body and gastrointestinal discomfort.

3. During San Fu Tian, it is advisable for the elderly to avoid these actions.

(1) Not eating meals on time. In such hot weather, our bodies can become weaker. If meals are skipped, it might lead to gastrointestinal discomfort or other issues. Therefore, eating on time is necessary. If heat reduces appetite, choose light and appetizing foods.

(2) Staying indoors all day in air conditioning.

Air conditioning is a great relief during summer, and while staying in an air-conditioned room is comfortable, not going outdoors for the entire day…
