The old saying goes, “Great Heat marks the extreme heat.” After the Great Heat, it is also the hottest time during the dog days, with hot and humid weather that makes people feel suffocated as if in a “steamer.”
In such hot weather, people will try every means to escape the heat, stay in air-conditioned rooms, drink cold beverages, eat some chilled watermelon, providing an opportunity for damp heat to thrive.
Therefore, after the Great Heat, it is not only important to learn how to cool down but also to focus on expelling dampness from the body. You can eat more of these four types of dampness-expelling vegetables, helping the body detoxify and easily get through the dog days.
