Women trying to lose weight should avoid four types of fruits at night, as they have higher calories than eating rice! Don’t overlook this.

Must read

In daily life, we can often enjoy a variety of fruits. Fruits are rich in vitamins, minerals, dietary fiber, and other substances necessary for the human body, which are very beneficial for health. However, it is not the case that the more you eat, the better. The “Chinese Dietary Guidelines” recommend daily fruit consumption to be between 200-350g. Consuming fruits in moderate amounts is already sufficient to provide the necessary substances for our bodies.

Some people trying to lose weight usually avoid rice for dinner but still need to eat something, so they often use fruits as a substitute. Although fruits are nutritious and can help curb hunger, they may not be ideal for weight loss, especially the following four types of fruits.

1. Red Dates

For women, red dates are an essential food item. In Cantonese cuisine, they are also used in soups and are known for the saying “eating three red dates a day keeps you young forever.” Eating an appropriate amount of red dates daily can help blood nourishment, invigorate the spleen and stomach, and promote beauty.

However, red dates are not low in calories; every 100g of red dates can provide about 300 calories, equivalent to around twice the calories in rice. Using red dates as a dinner substitute for satiety might result in consuming more calories, which hinders weight loss and may lead to weight gain.

2. Durian

While some people find durian’s taste challenging, most cannot resist its deliciousness. Durian has a rich nutrient profile, but it contains about 5% fat per fruit, along with high calories. More importantly, it has a high sugar content, with approximately 147 calories and 27g of sugar per 100g. Therefore, durian is not an ideal fruit for dinner for those aiming to lose weight.

3. Avocado

Ripe avocados have a smooth and creamy texture, favored by many women for their rich nutritional content. Despite being a healthy and tasty fruit, avocados are high in calories. A regular avocado contains about 200 calories per 150g, higher than a serving of rice in terms of calorie content.

4. Banana

Bananas are not only affordable but also delicious, yet they are calorie-dense. Each 100g of banana provides 91 calories, equivalent to about half a bowl of rice. Having just a banana for dinner won’t be satisfying, and it might lead to increased hunger, subsequently consuming more calories. Substituting bananas for dinner not only fails to aid in weight loss but might lead to further weight gain.

Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that bananas have a sweet and cold nature, with the ability to clear heat, moisten the intestines, and promote gastrointestinal movement. However, individuals with spleen and stomach deficiencies may not be suitable for consuming bananas, as it may lead to symptoms like diarrhea and abdominal pain.
